My grandfather hasn't been doing so well since he came back from the philippines not too long ago. He's had trouble breathing and has been in the hospital twice in the last month, which has been pretty rough on my mom and the rest of the family. It was my cousin's 5th birthday today, so we went over to my grandparent's house out in norwalk, and it great getting to spend time with family I don't get to see very often. I saw a couple uncles I hadn't seen since I was 7 or 8. But I think the best part of the day was spending time with my grandfather- me feeding rice to the chickens they keep in the yard and him telling me i'm giving them too much, dressing him up in women's clothes my mom brought over for my grandmother, and then me trying to speak tagalog but failing most always- and it makes me happy to see him enjoying his day. My mother told me on the way home that my grandfather had told her I make him laugh and I make him happy. It's a good feeling knowing that I was able to make someone's day just a little bit better, and it was someone I've always really cared about and adored since I was little which made it awesomely awesome.

It rained a lot today. We had some pretty scary thunder and lightning last night, and I guess it hit somewhere by our dorms. I love being inside when it's raining, which is what I'm doing now. However, this happiness is being neutralized because of pain in my legs. My right leg is longer than the other due to the breaking of my ankle 7 years ago. And so it's grown to be a tad bit longer, though fortunately I don't think I'm growing anymore. But in any case, sometimes when I go running or I walk for a long period of time, where my pelvis connects to my thigh starts hurting pretty darn bad. So that's been my day today. Eh, life throws you some screwballs some of the time. Or some curves. Or some sliders.

But it was nice today because the air was very crisp and fresh; it reminded me of wonderful wintertime.. :-)

So there's been fire drills around campus all day; I think they covered all the buildings. So I was in the shower when delta's goes off. And I'm like "Oh cool." I was gonna put on a towel and run out cause the sound of the alarm was ear-piercing, but I was smart and threw on something, hair dripping wet, and left. My roommate left me :-(. But it was funny cause when we had our meeting with our RA before, he told us that sometimes when fire drills happen, people run out with a towel. Me and alexa laughed cause that wasn't going to happen to either of us, but of course, it had to happen to me. At least I wasn't in the middle of washing my hair, how traumatic would that have been? :-) No, it was an exciting experience... I love ucla--

So I just almost got hit by a car, which was cool. My roommate and I were walking back to the dorms from campus, and out comes a car going like 100 and he almost misses stopping at the stop sign. Well we're about to pass him, and his car is completely stopped. But then for some unknown reason, he takes his foot off the brake, puts it on the gas pedal and presses it right when I'm about a foot in front of his car. I was freaked out, so I jumped backwards really quickly, and kinda just in time, he puts his foot on the brake again. The passenger's window was open, and we could both see the driver, and they didn't say anything. They just kinda stared at us as we had the most surprised and somewhat perturbed look on our faces. It's ironic too cause my roommate and I talked about that situation earlier in the day when we saw many other cars driving 100 in a 45 zone on the outskirts of campus. Crazy people here at ucla, I don't know what's up, it's not like it's a monday and they have to hurry to get to class or something.
